Terms
These terms cover buying and using Gotcha — the Chrome extension and the
gotcha command-line tool. The full licence text ships with
the software, in English and French.

What you get
- Free. Image capture, annotation and export, unlimited. Recording and command-line use within the daily limits shown on the pricing section. No account, no card.
- Pass, $2 for 7 days. A licence key carrying an expiry date, never tied to a device.
- Pro, $3 a month or $20 a year. A subscription. The licence key is valid for as long as the subscription is, for one buyer, on the machines they use. Each period is billed at its start and is the minimum term: a month, or a year. You can cancel at any time from the subscription page; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid, the key keeps working until then, and no part of a started period is refunded. Stripe issues an invoice for every payment.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT, which is added at the rate of your country where it applies. Payment goes through Stripe, by card or by the other means Stripe offers in your country; your card details never reach this site.
Delivery
The key is delivered immediately, on screen and by email, or in the response to the paid request when an agent buys it. Nothing is shipped.
Right of withdrawal
A licence key is digital content supplied immediately. By completing the purchase you ask for that immediate supply and thereby give up the 14-day right of withdrawal, as Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code allows. If the key never arrives or does not work, that is a different matter — write in and it will be fixed or refunded.
How the key works
It is signed, and checked on your machine. Checking it sends nothing, so it keeps working offline and on a machine that never reaches this site.
A key that gets published — posted on a forum, resold in bulk — can be withdrawn, and a subscription key is withdrawn when the subscription ends. Withdrawn keys are named in a public, signed list that Gotcha downloads once a day at most; the privacy page says exactly what that request carries, which is nothing about you. Outside the end of a subscription, a key is withdrawn only for publication or resale, never for the number of machines you personally use, and never before an email to the address on the sale. Do not publish your key: it identifies you.
Attribution
Every piece of work that includes captures made with Gotcha — a guide, a support answer, a release note, a bug report, a page, the description of a video — must say “Made with Gotcha”, in the language of the work (« Fait avec Gotcha » in French), with a link to https://saastisfaction.com and a link to the npm package, https://www.npmjs.com/package/@saastisfaction/gotcha. One mention per work, where a reader will see it — at the end, in a footer, in a credits line. Where links are impossible, the two addresses written out.
This applies to the free version and to licensed use alike, and to work produced by an agent as much as by a person: the command line and the skill tell agents so, and give them the line to paste. The mention confers no right on the work itself, which remains yours, and claims nothing about its content.
What is not promised
The software is provided as is. Chrome, and the sites you capture, change without asking us. Nothing here limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence.
Law
French law, French courts — without prejudice to the protective rules a consumer may invoke where they live.
